Hot glue is indispensable in many areas such as decorating, DIY, repairs and handicrafts. With the series "Made@Home" from Pattex you get hot glue sticks with a Ø of approx. 11 mm for corresponding hot glue guns.
The hot glue stick is melted inside the gun and applied to the desired surface by means of a trigger through the glue nozzle. This allows precise gluing, but also gluing of large areas. Almost all materials can be glued together with hot glue. Only polystyrene on polystyrene, as well as soft PVC, PP, PE and PTFE cannot be used.
Ideal for floristic decorations such as wreaths or metal rings. Simply decorate these with artificial flowers or dried flowers using the hot glue. Since the glue dries completely transparent, no glue spots are visible afterwards. Permanent bonding to walls is also possible with hot glue.
Tips to use:
Applicable to: Almost all surfaces. Except soft PVC, polyethylene and polystyrene on polystyrene.
Apply with: Hot glue gun.
Preparations: Provide a fireproof base, insert the hotmelt stick into the device and connect the hot glue gun to the mains. Observe the heating time of approx. 8-10 minutes. The surface to be glued should be clean and free of dust and grease.
Processing of material: By pulling the trigger, always move the hot glue stick in the gun further forward to press the glue out of the glue nozzle. The liquid glue can be dosed according to the pressure on the trigger. In this way, small precise as well as large area glue spots can be created. Then place the joint to be bonded into the still liquid adhesive and press on. For flexible substrates, the glued areas should be applied in a zigzag pattern.
Time to dry: As soon as the adhesive has cooled down, full adhesive strength is reached. This takes about 2 minutes.
Work to finish: Do not remove glue sticks from the gun, as this may damage the mechanics. Disconnect the device from from the mains and allow it to cool down completely.
This is to be noted: Glue residues can be removed again only mechanically or by heating. The removal of adhesive stains from textiles can be assisted by cooling to -18 °C. When bonding polystyrene, apply the adhesive to the other material!
