Plotting - cut out great motifs thanks to cutting plotters and plotter files
With a cutting plotter, you can easily cut out lots of different designs and start great craft projects.
We have great ideas & tutorials explaining exactly what you need to do to plot our great motif templates. For the many different DIYs, we offer many different plotter files that you can easily download for your plotter.
There are different plotters. Some plotters can not only cut thin materials like paper and foil, but also thicker materials like foam rubber, felt and leather.
How plotting works
First, find a suitable design template and download the plotter file for it. Next you need to drag the downloaded plotter file over to the plotter software so that it can be sent to the plotter. There you can change the size, position, cutting depth and speed. Now place the flex foil on the cutting mat so that it covers the areas where the motif is to be cut. Once the motif has been cut, the surrounding film is removed. This is also called 'weeding'. Now you can transfer your plotted and weeded motif onto different fabrics. To do this, simply place the motif with the transparent film facing upwards where you want it. Then use an iron to press the motif firmly in place for a few seconds. For an even better and longer lasting result, press your motif onto the fabric with a transfer press.
