Batik techniques
In batik there are many different techniques, how to dye different textiles.
In the Shibori technique, different patterns such as circles, squares and lines are created on the fabric by folding, tying, knotting and winding. Depending on the type of folding and tying, as well as the amount of squeezing, the dye does not get into the fabric at these points.
The tie-dye technique is also batik. Here you tie some parts of the fabric with cotton cords.
Or you can batik with the dip-dye technique. For this, you put 1 liter of cold water in an old tub/jar and put two full caps of textile dye in the water. Then put half of the wet fabric into the dye bath. Now the dyed water slowly pulls into the textile fibers from the bottom and moves upward. This creates a beautiful color gradient. As soon as the desired color intensity is achieved, remove the bag from the water bath and let it dry. Then iron it.
