What are glue sticks?
Glue sticks are solid rods based on polymers, which are inserted into the feed shaft of the glue guns. When heated, the glue liquefies and immediately solidifies again when it cools. With the help of a hot glue gun, you can thus fix accessories and stick decorations quickly and easily without long waiting times.
Tips to use:
Applicable to: photographic paper, felt, glass, rubber, wood, cork, ceramics, plastic, leather, metal, foam sheets, paper, cardboard / carton, terracotta / clay, textiles / fabrics.
Apply with: Glue gun.
Preparations: The surface should be clean, dry, free of grease and dust.
Processing of material: The glue stick is inserted into the opening provided in the glue gun. Heat up the glue gun. When sufficient temperature is reached, the glue can be applied with the glue gun. Due to the rapid cooling of the liquefied adhesive, simple glue guns only can be used to apply glue to small areas. On materials with good thermal conductivity, the adhesive solidifies much faster than on paper, plastics or wood. When bonding objects made of materials with good thermal conductivity such as metal, stone or glass, it is advisable to preheat them. This improves the adhesion of the adhesive and allows a longer working time.
Time to dry: approx. 4 minutes.
This is to be noted: Adhesive and glue guns heat up during operation, especially in the front area near the nozzle, so that skin contact may cause burns.
