The VBS Rattan cane natural, blue tape with a Ø of about 1.5 mm is ideal for braiding. It guarantees a clean and smooth cut, even colour and very good durability. The blue ribbon stands for the highest quality level of Rattan cane and has a flawless material with the smallest colour deviations.
Classic baskets and trays, but also great lampshades, Wreaths, torches, flower pots and wall plates can be made using this technique. As this is a natural material, please make sure you use a bulb with a very low wattage if you want to work with light.
For processing the blue Rattan cane ribbon should be soaked in lukewarm water for about 5 minutes. The so-called "stakes" give the braid stability and shape and should therefore be chosen a little stronger than the threads to be processed. Make sure that the Rattan cane-threads are processed moist so that they do not break
