Finally, Christmas is just around the corner! There is probably no better time of year to decorate your home and create a cosy atmosphere. With our wooden ball gnomes, we offer you a contemplative idea in traditional colours that is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit.
To make the 4 wooden ball gnomes, you will need the set, a black fineliner for the faces, scissors, a pencil and craft glue.
This is how you make the cute elves:
1. First, paint on the faces step by step. To do this, take the 35 mm wooden spheres. It is advisable to delicately sketch the faces in advance with a pencil. Then trace the lines with a thin (e.g. 0.1 mm) fineliner. Later, when the fineliner has dried, you can erase over the faces with only a little pressure. Finally, complete the faces with pink cheeks (the thick side of a bamboo skewer is very suitable for this).
2. Now transfer the templates to the craft felt or folding paper. Cut out all the parts as described below.
A (cap) = 1x red craft felt, 1x white craft felt, 1x red folding paper with white dots, 1x white folding paper with red stars.
B (star collar) = 2x craft felt red, 2x craft felt white
C (circle) = 2x folding paper red with white dots, 2x folding paper white with red stars
D (fanny pack) = 2x folding paper red with white dots, 2x folding paper white with red stars
3. Now add small wax beads to the tips of the felt star.
You have two options here:
Either twist the tips of the stars together and thread the beads onto them or
glue the beads onto the tips with craft glue. Please note that the glue must be completely dry before you can continue.
4. Next, take the 50 mm wooden balls. Using hot glue, glue on the star collars and above them the circles. Make sure that the hole of the wooden ball faces downwards for a better stand. Now fix the heads of the gnomes in place. Then glue on the belly pockets with craft glue.
5. Now glue the caps together. Glue the folded paper hats together with craft glue and the felt hats together at the edge with hot glue to make cones. Glue a pompom to the top of each one.
Cut thin strips from the craft felt and the folding paper and decorate the bottom edges with them. Use a little hot glue to stick the hats onto the heads of the gnomes.
Tip: Do not go all the way to the top of the hat with the glue. This will prevent you from getting burnt with the hot glue and you will have clean glued edges.
