This colourful bunny family is the eye-catcher of your Easter decoration! Whether as a decorative pendant in the Easter bush or as a table decoration for Easter. The choice of paper allows you to vary the colour of the bunnies. Our craft set is also ideal for an afternoon of crafting together with children.
With our craft set you can make ten bunnies. In addition to the materials included in the kit, you will need scissors, a pencil, a black fineliner, a white pen or white acrylic paint and a fine brush. If necessary, you should also have a sublimation pencil ready to transfer the templates for the bunny ears onto the felt.
It's so easy to make the bunny family:
1. First transfer the motif template for the egg onto the paper. Cut everything out and glue two paper eggs of the same colour together.
2. Now sort the colours according to your taste: tone on tone or colourful? We couldn't decide and simply combined both colours. A little info: Six egg motifs fit on one sheet of paper. This is enough for one bunny figure.
3. In the next step, cut 30 cm or 10 cm off the satin ribbon. The satin ribbon is a good help to keep the head stable on the body. The long 30 cm satin ribbon will also serve as a hanging ribbon later.
4. to be able to fold the paper eggs well, we recommend using a folding tool. Tip: If you don't have a folding tool, a bamboo skewer will also do. Place a ruler on the area to be folded and then trace it with the bamboo skewer. Apply a little pressure to the paper.
5. Next, make the bodies. You will need three paper eggs for one rabbit figure. Apply a strip of handicraft glue to the first paper egg and place the satin ribbon on top. It is sufficient for the ribbon to only extend to the centre of the egg. Press it down lightly with a bamboo skewer, for example. Now apply handicraft glue to the satin ribbon and finally glue the other two paper eggs together at the fold line. Leave the body to dry long enough. Important: If you want your bunny to stand upright, simply cut away a piece at the bottom after the drying time. This is no longer possible once the head has been attached.
6. While the bodies are drying, the faces are painted on. To do this, first draw everything delicately with a pencil. Then colour in the eyes and teeth in white. Trace the pupils and all other lines and details with a black fineliners. Finally, add light reflections to the eyes. If you want to apply them with acrylic paint, the best way to do this is with the lace of a bamboo skewer.
7. Now draw the head onto the satin ribbon. Apply a generous amount of handicraft glue around the hole and place the head on the body. Pull lightly on the ribbon so that the head sits firmly and doesn't wobble. Secure the satin ribbon in the hole with handicraft glue for more stability. Check again that the head is firmly in place.
8. If you want a loop, you now need to insert the end of the satin ribbon into the hole and glue it in place.
9. Now cut out the template for the ears and transfer it to the craft felt. The sublimat pen is very suitable for this. The lines can then be wiped off with a little water - this will give you a clean result. Cut out all the pieces.
10. Put some handicraft glue in the hole and push the ears in using a bamboo skewer. Shape them into shape. For the standing bunnies, simply cut off the end of the satin ribbon that is too long.
