Hama beads - fun for young & old
The history of Hama Beads begins in 1961, the year Malte Haaning founded Malte Haaning Plastic A/S and started out making drinking straws. Over time, the product range grew to include other plastic items.
The demand for tube beads, which at that time were glued to plastic bowls or pieces of cardboard, grew strongly over the years, so that the manufacturers at that time could no longer keep up. Malte Haaning decided to produce them in his company and include them into his assortment. In the late 1970s, Malte Haaning developed the ironing method that is so popular with many children and adults today. In 1984, the name HAMA was registered as a trademark, which is derived from the name of the company founder. Today, Hama beads are so well known & popular that Hama products are exported to over 50 countries worldwide.
The focus of Hama beads is especially on the educational area. The small colourful beads promote the child's motor skills and creativity and also increase concentration. In this way, learning and fun are easily combined.
Hama beads
The most popular Hama beads have a diameter of 5.0 mm and are suitable for ages 5 and up.
In our VBS online shop you have a large selection of Hama beads. You can get them in different pack sizes and in different colour combinations. Discover Hama beads in neon, pastel, glitter or even solid. You will find the right Hama beads for every taste and for every project.
Hama beads can not only be attached to boards and then ironed - the colourful beads can also be easily threaded onto ribbons to create small pendants and bracelets. But the well-known ironing technique can also be easily implemented with Hama beads.
It's so easy to create a motif with Hama beads:
1. Put the Hama beads in the desired colours on the boards. Either according to your own ideas or with the help of a beautiful motif template.
2. As soon as the motif is ready, cover it with ironing or baking paper and iron it by an adult until the Hama beads have melted together.
3. The motif should be cooled under a heavy book to prevent it from deforming as it cools. The finished motif can then be removed from the Hama board.
Hama Boards
The Hama boards serve as a base for the Hama beads. The beads are placed on the Hama boards in the desired colours and patterns. This gradually creates great pictures, shapes and patterns. As soon as the shapes or patterns with the beads are completely set on the Hama boards, the beads are fused together with an iron. In the process, the Hama boards are spared and can be used again and again for countless projects.
We offer a great selection of different Hama boards in our online shop. Discover shapes such as hearts, stars, animals and circles. You will also find square Hama boards, which can either be used individually or combined with other square boards to form a large board. This way, you can also create large pictures with the Hama beads.
