VBS Craft kit "Birds"
Instructions No. 2835These cute Christmas birds, with their big eyes, simply put a smile on everyone's face. No matter where they hang, they are always an eye-catcher. The birds can be made in no time with just a few materials and look great too. In this instruction, we will show you how you can easily make these funny little birds.
In addition to the materials included in the set, you will need: sharp scissors, handicraft glue or hot glue, a black pen, needle and thread, a brush and bamboo skewers.
Important: It is best to apply 3 layers so that the paint covers well. The individual layers of paint should always be completely dry before applying another.
Tip: To keep your hands clean, you can stick a bamboo skewer into the polystyrene ball and then paint it.
2. Transfer the motif templates onto the craft felt, e.g. with the disappearing ink pen. Cut out all the parts with sharp scissors.
3. After the polystyrene balls have dried, glue one large and one small ball together. If you use handicraft glue, it will take a while for the balls to stick together. If you use hot glue, be careful not to apply the glue too hot or it will burn into the polystyrene.
4. Now glue the caps of the birds. Put some hot glue on the straight edge and roll up the felt into a bag.
Tip: Do not go all the way to the tip of the cap with the glue. This will prevent you from getting burnt with the hot glue and you will have clean glued edges.
Then cut an approx. 5 mm wide strip from the felt and glue it around the cap as a hat brim. Bend the brim slightly and glue it on with a dot of hot glue. Pierce the felt cap with a needle and thread so that you can hang the birds later. Now glue the cap to the head with a little hot glue.
5. Add some glue to the eyes, the beak and the wings and glue them to the polystyrene balls. Then paint on the pupils with a black pen (e.g. acrylic marker).
6. Finally, cut a 1 cm wide piece of the craft felt and tie it around the birds' necks with a simple knot. Shorten any ends that are too long and trim in the fringe. Your funny Christmas birds are ready.
