Application Tips:

Stamperia DC02 is a water-based gilding adhesive (Missione all'acqua) specially developed for gold leaf, metal flakes, and foil applications. It is a slow-drying adhesive that becomes tacky and tough once dry, allowing foils to adhere smoothly to it.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Prepare the surface: Make sure the surface of your project (wood, canvas, paper, or plastic) is clean, dry, and free of dust.

Apply the adhesive: Using a soft brush, apply a thin, even layer of the adhesive to the area you want to gild. If you want to create a specific design, you can apply the adhesive through a stencil.

Wait until the adhesive becomes clear (the “sticky” phase): Do not apply the gold leaf while the adhesive is still wet. Let it air dry. It will change from a milky white to completely transparent and will feel very sticky to the touch.

Apply gold leaf or gold flakes: Carefully place the gold leaf or gold flakes onto the tacky adhesive.

Press down and smooth: Press the gold leaf firmly with a clean, dry, soft brush or a soft cloth so that it makes full contact with the adhesive.

Remove excess material: Brush away any loose, excess flakes or gold leaf residue with a soft brush.
