Squirrel feeding house made from handicraft blocks
Instructions No. 2925We have built a beautiful squirrel feeding house out of handicraft blocks. In these instructions, we explain how easy it is to make it. The bird feeding house is the ideal place to watch the little rodents eat and to help them find food.
How to build the squirrel feeding house:
To make a small plate, first glue three blocks together on the long side. Repeat the process a second time. Glue a horizontal divider between the two plates and glue everything together. Finally, glue a horizontal block on each side. This creates two lining surfaces with a partition.
Support pillars:
Glue a "U" from three blocks as shown in the picture. Glue this upside down "U" in the middle of the feeding tray. Make sure that the feeding place is easily accessible from both sides.
Roof:
Glue together an "L" from two wooden blocks. Do this a total of 9 times. Always glue these "L" together in a staggered manner. This creates a straight ridge and jags at the bottom of the roof. Now glue the roof onto the posts. First place the roof on the framework and plumb the centre. Make sure that the vertical posts are flush with the 5th roof batten. Now spread handicraft glue between the roof and the supporting posts with a pointed object. Sand individual areas as needed. Allow to dry for 12-24 hours. Turn the bird house upside down and drizzle handicraft glue between the roof and the supporting pillar from below. Let this dry for 12-24 hours as well. Finally, spray the bird feeding house with permanent spray and allow to dry.
