What are Fröbel stars?
Fröbel stars are paper stars. They consist of several paper strips and are folded according to the instructions. The paper strips are usually printed on both sides with color-coordinated colors and patterns and give the paper star its beautiful appearance. Folding the paper strips makes the paper stars three-dimensional. The finished Froebel stars are often used as Christmas decorations, e.g. as pendants for the Christmas tree or for the Advent wreath.
Why is the paper star called a Froebel star?
The Froebel star owes its name to the founder of the kindergarten movement, Friedrich Froebel. Fröbel wanted to contribute to the development of fine motor skills and developed the folding technique for children, in which they practiced their accuracy in a playful way by making the stars and also gained a feeling for proportions and geometry.
