Make your own fabric flowers: Creative DIY-Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the petals

To create your petals, draw circles of the desired size on the back of the fabric. You can use a glass as a guide stencil . If you don't want to cut out each circle individually, pre-draw a circle, fold the fabric in several layers and secure them with pins.

Now cut out the circles. Tailor's or fabric scissors will make this process easier.

Step 2: Sew the flowers together

Fold each individual petal in half and sew them together. Start on one side and keep threading the thread through the fabric from front to back until you reach the other end.

Each petal is threaded onto a sufficiently long thread one after the other. Then pull the flower together by pushing the fabric tightly together on the thread and secure everything with two to three knots. If you don't want to decorate the flower further , cut the thread and the flower is ready for use.

Step 3: Decorate the flowers

For a decorative center, you can use buttons or beads that you simply sew into the center of the flower. Don't be afraid to use hot glue if you find sewing difficult. If you want to attach the flowers to branches later, tie a loop at one end of the thread.
