This large butterfly is an absolute eye-catcher in your garden. The wings are bent from coloured aluminium wire, onto which flashing facetted Acrylic-stones are threaded.
And this is how it works:
Shape half of the Modelling clay into a butterfly body and let it dry well. Cover the finished body with Aqua-Seal lacquer weatherproof.
Bend the wings out of the flat wire according to the template, twist the wire ends together and let them protrude a little, so that you can stick them better into the body. Cut the 1 mm aluminium wire roll in half, thread the beads on it and wrap from edge into the wings. Bend spirals from the 2 mm aluminium wire and work them into the wings.
For the feelers, glue a Pearl on the 2 mm wire and roll it up a little. Prick two small holes in the body with a scalpel and glue the feelers into them.
Prick two larger holes in the side of the body and glue the wings into them.
