Suncatcher "Sunshine"
Instructions No. 3019Bring some sunshine into your home with this suncatcher! The acrylic forms are cleverly designed with alcohol ink paint. With little effort, you can create a great decoration that scatters shimmering rays of light in your room. Have fun crafting!
To creatie this idea, you will need 1 acrylic disc in Ø 13 cm, 5 acrylic balls of Ø 3 cm each and 3 acrylic balls of Ø 4 cm each.
Before you start colouring, make sure that the ball halves are in front of you with the hanging loops facing upwards.
So that you can hang the acrylic disc and balls properly later, you need to drill another hole in the acrylic disc exactly opposite the existing hole and two more holes at equal intervals next to it. The acrylic baubles will later be hung from these holes.
Our Dremel multifunction tool and the Dremel 628 precision drill bit set are suitable for drilling. Our Dremel multifunction tool and the Dremel 628 precision drill bit set are suitable for drilling.
Coloured design
First clean the acrylic forms so that they are free of dust and grease. Drip the Alcohol Ink colours onto the acrylic disc and balls. Use the bellows to distribute the drops of colour in different directions. The resulting noses look very effective on the acrylic. If the colour has not flowed far enough, use a few drops of extender: drip onto the colour and then spread with the bellows.
Once everything is dry, put the ball halves together and cover the edges with mirror mosaic. Print out the motif template and transfer the lettering to the acrylic disc using the permanent marker included in the Alcohol-Ink set.
Finally, you can connect all the parts together with pearl thread and then loop the new Suncather.
