Making a light box out of craft blocks is a creative and personalised gift idea that you can easily design yourself. You can use this decoration for many different occasions or you can simply decorate it as a mural or standing frame in your home.
This is how you design the frame:
For this idea, you will need 12 craft blocks made from the wood of your choice. For a smoother surface, sand the blocks smooth before gluing them together.
First take 4 blocks. Stand them upright on their long, narrow sides. Apply VBS handicraft glue to the ends and glue the blocks together to form a frame.
Now take another 4 blocks. Lay them flat in front of you. Glue the narrow ends together with some handicraft glue. Repeat this a second time.
Print out a text or lettering of your choice. Place this under the vellum paper / star foil and trace it with a Posca marker. Roughly cut them out and stick them onto a flat frame.
Glue the wires of the chain of lights into the frame with hot glue. Glue the battery compartment to the outside.
Then apply VBS handicraft glue to the narrow edges of the frame and place a flat frame with the lettering on top. Let it dry briefly before gluing the other side.
