Instructions No. 3067Immerse yourself in the world of creative design with casting resin and Raysin and create beautiful candle holders and coasters - perfect as gifts too!
It's that simple:
Firstly, protect your workstation with a handicraft mat.
Silicone casting mould "Oval coaster":
Mix approx. 5 tablespoons of Raysin with water to form a creamy mixture. Then add the shell granules and stir vigorously. Pour the mixture into the silicone mould and tap it lightly on the surface so that the air bubbles rise. After approx. 30 minutes, you can remove the coaster from the mould. Tap it on the edge of the table to break it. Then put the individual parts back into the casting mould. Then mix some casting resin according to the instructions on the pack and pour it into the gaps in the casting mould so that the base is covered. Leave the casting resin to dry for 12 hours. Once dry, sprinkle some shell granules into the casting mould. Mix the casting resin again and fill the mould with it. After 24 hours of drying time, you can remove the coaster from the mould. To seal the surface, mix some casting resin again and coat the surface with a brush. After another drying time, your coaster is ready.
Silicone casting mould "Stick candle holder":
Mix a tablespoon of Raysin with a little water to make a creamy mixture and pour it halfway into the silicone mould so that only the holder is filled with the mixture. Tap the mould lightly on the surface so that the air bubbles rise. Leave the casting compound to dry for approx. 30 minutes. Then mix approx. 10 ml of casting resin in the measuring cup according to the instructions on the pack. Sprinkle some shell granules into the casting mould and pour the casting resin over them. Leave to dry for 24 hours. Then mix another 1 tablespoon of Raysin with water and fill the casting mould with it. After approx. 30 minutes, you can demould the casting. You can smooth the edges with sandpaper.
Silicone casting mould "Candle holder":
Mix approx. 4 tablespoons of Raysin with a little water to make a creamy mixture. Add some of the shell granules and stir again vigorously. Pour the mixture into the casting mould and leave to dry for approx. 1 hour. Then carefully remove the casting from the mould. Moisten the sandpaper and sand the stick candle holder until the shell granules are clearly visible.
Tip: If your stick candle is too large in diameter, you can sharpen it with a candle sharpener. To hold the candle firmly in place, place an adhesive wax disc in the base of the mould!
