Here's how to create the birthday arrangement:

Pour the pennant chain and use it as a mini garland
First, set everything up so you can work quickly while pouring: Place the silicone mold for the pennant chain on a flat, sturdy surface. This keeps the mold stable and allows the casting mixture to cure properly later.

Mix the casting mixture: creamy, not too runny
Add one heaping tablespoon of casting powder to a mixing cup and gradually add water. Stir thoroughly until a smooth, creamy consistency forms. This step is important to ensure your pennants turn out even and don’t develop any brittle spots.

Pouring into the “ silicone mould ” and avoiding air bubbles
Carefully pour the mixed casting mixture into the silicone mold. Make sure the pennants are completely filled so that the edges form cleanly. To remove any air bubbles, tap the filled mold lightly a few times. Do not lift the mold while doing this, otherwise the mixture may spill over.

Unmold, let dry, and smooth the edges
After about 30 minutes, you can carefully remove the cast pieces from the mold. Then set them aside to dry completely. Once the pennants are completely dry, you can smooth out any rough edges with a little “ sandpaper .”

Thread the pennant garland and label it
Thread the individual pennants onto a string or a ribbon.

Center everything, check that the rods are stable—and your cast pennant garland is ready to use as a candle decoration.
