Sock wool - quality yarn at low prices
Sock wool is a high-quality yarn that is spun into a smooth thread in 4-thread, 6-thread and sometimes even 8-thread. Sock wool is not only particularly smooth and thus pleasant to knit or crochet, it is equipped with many high-quality properties that ensure long-lasting comfort.
Classic sock wool consists of 75% virgin wool and 25% polyacrylic. Due to this special mixture, on the one hand, the wool is pleasant to the skin and temperature balancing. On the other hand, the proportion of polyacrylic makes the sock wool particularly robust and easy to care for. In addition, the wool is refined so that it is felt-free and equipped with anti-pilling. Sock wool is washable up to 40°C.
You can use sock wool classically for knitting stockings or for knitting fashionable hats, scarves or sweaters. The robust uniform thread gives a smooth stitch pattern and is ideal for first exercises when starting to knit.
Socks knitted with sock wool itself fits the foot particularly well. In popular parlance, DIY socks on children's feet grow particularly well. This is a simple paraphrase for the fact that the socks made from the high-quality sock wool are particularly elastic and pliable, thereby not constricting.
Sock wool is available in the most beautiful patterns. So that the color gradients on both socks look the same, passionate knitters recommend creating both socks in parallel.
However, the sock wool is also very popular for crocheting. Not only stockings, but also loops, hats, shopping bags or even blankets can be crocheted with durable and robust sock wool.
