PROXXON scroll saw DS 230/E

The scroll saw is used for fretwork or other fine sawing work with wood, plastic and non-ferrous metals. It is therefore the ideal tool for model making, toy production, precision mechanics or the production of house and garden decorations.

The scroll saw easily cuts soft wood up to 40 mm, hard wood up to 10 mm, plastics up to 4 mm and non-ferrous metals up to 2 mm. The head section is height adjustable in 3 steps, so that saw blades of different lengths can be used. On the one hand, the service life of the saw blades can be multiplied, since when one particular area of the saw blade wears out, the next area can be used. Thus the teeth of the blade can be used over the entire length. On the other hand, in the lowest Position of the head section can be worked even more precisely with a blade shortened by approx. 60 mm.

The scroll saw is equipped with an electronic stroke rate control, so that the stroke rate can be individually adjusted to the application and the material to be sawn. For example, when sawing metals and plastics, a lower number of strokes is required than when sawing wood. Guiding the workpiece on the worktop is facilitated by an adjustable longitudinal stop and a separate angular stop with scale division. The blade guide is supported by a separate blowing device, so that the view of the cut is always clear when working.

The high-precision, face-milled worktop is made of die-cast aluminium, the housing of the scroll saw is made of high-quality acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer plastic. The housing has an integrated suction socket for the connection of a vacuum cleaner to keep the saw and the workplace clean. Scroll saw blades can be stored in a practical storage compartment. Changing the saw blades is child's play: a generous opening in the housing makes it easy to access the lower saw blade holder. The scroll saw cuts with standard fretsaw blades. 3 fretsaw blades with coarse and 2 with fine teeth are already included in the scope of delivery.
